Interior Design

Interior design not only deals with the visual augmentation of any interior space, but also with the overall look, style, functionality and aesthetic appeal of the space. It can be said that the interior design of any space also depends on factors like budget, client, technology used, functions desired by the client, demographics, location, structure of the building, social and economical context of the space, total square feet area to be designed, etc. In view of the fact that achieving all these makes the whole process quite challenging, this practice is bound to be systematic, coordinated and methodical and includes a lot of research, creative insights, integrated knowledge, analysis and patience to find the balance between what can be done and what the client desires.

Interior design is a prominent profession in India today, thanks to the rapid growth of the real estate sector of the country and the inflow of foreign trade making people upgrade to a better standard of living. Therefore just like other prominent professions, even this has a few specializations that can be broadly classified as residential interior design and commercial property design. For instance, you may come across interior designers or interior design professionals that only deal with residential interior design like houses, flats, villas, bungalows, farmhouses, etc. Such designers are called residential interior designers or home interior designers. On the other hand commercial interior designers only work on commercial properties like office spaces, banks, restaurants, malls, retail outlets, etc.

Some of the best interior designers in India today are working on projects from across the globe. And while a few of them are freelancing, most belong to leading interior design and architecture companies. Such firms are given high regards in the world of architecture and interior design as these are the people to be credited for the massive transformation many A grade and B grade cities of the country are witnessing today. They are the ones responsible for all the innovative and exclusive designs in projects you see nowadays. These companies are equipped with manpower as well as resources to handle small and big spaces alike. The teams of designers come up with smart solutions and unique designs while also taking care that the space is clutter-free, safe, pleasant, functional, sustainable, comfortable and flexible for the convenience of the client and occupants.

Contrary to popular belief interior design covers a lot more than just putting a painting here, well-designed furniture there and selecting the right colour-scheme. An interior designer is responsible for the entire project right from planning the spaces to the end lighting of the space. The interior designer has all the technical knowledge of whether a particular design may work or not in the given space, something a layman or client without technical knowledge or civil engineering background can never understand.
